Castle Fun Park was a popular family theme park, particularly during the 1980s. Located in Halls Head, a coastal suburb of Mandurah, it showcased a miniature village full of famous buildings. Although the castle, well and swimming pool still survive, it won't be long before the site is razed for an extension of the neighbouring housing estate, that is currently being developed.

The existing castle was built by George Kaspar, who was inspired by King Ludwig II's Neuschwanstein in Germany.

Built in 1979, the miniature village consisted of a number of castles, as well as a pool in the shape of Australia, a mini golf course, go-kart track and a kiosk.

After the Mandurah bypass bridge was constructed, the Castle Fun Park took a blow with a subsequent decline in the number of visitors.

 

The theme park closed for good in the early 2000s and as graffiti, vandalism and weather conditions ruined many of what remained, a bushfire destroyed more of what was left in 2007.
