Canning Vale residents end rezoning fight
CANNING VALE ● 25 June 1991
Canning Vale residents ended their campaign against the proposed rezoning of land from rural to urban after deciding there was little chance of stopping the change.
Progress Association president Alan Genoni said the group would instead work with developers and Canning commissioner Charlie Gregorini to ensure the environment was protected as much as possible and preserve the amenity of residents living in the area.
Genoni said several large landholdings had already been amalgamated for urban rezoning, with owners potentially raising enough capital to secure larger properties further out.
