Dozens of Missing Wheelie Bins Found at Mount Lawley Property

MOUNT LAWLEY ● 10 October 2026

Residents in Mount Lawley have raised concerns about missing household rubbish bins after photographs emerged showing dozens of green and yellow-lidded wheelie bins stored in the backyard of a property on William Street.

The unusually large collection was also visible in satellite imagery, with the bins occupying a substantial portion of the property's backyard.

The discovery followed reports from local residents about bins disappearing from nearby properties. In an anonymous Facebook post, one resident claimed to have confronted a woman who had entered their property and allegedly attempted to remove a wheelie bin.

The resident also questioned whether the collection of so many council bins at a single property was permitted and whether local authorities were aware of the situation.

The City of Vincent confirmed it was aware of community concerns about missing bins but declined to comment on individual properties or possible compliance matters involving residents.

Chief executive David MacLennan encouraged residents to report missing or suspected stolen bins through the City's website.

WA Police confirmed that investigations were continuing, although no findings or charges had been announced at the time of reporting.

It remains unclear how the bins came to be stored at the property or whether they are connected to the reported thefts.
