A demolition application was approved by the City of Stirling, but it can take months, or even up to a year, before any action is taken.

The kitchen looked brand new and, beside the house, sat a brand new couch, flat-pack furniture and cushions, still mostly wrapped in plastic or in their original cardboard boxes. Despite the heavy rain over the previous week, it seems inevitable that the furniture would have ended up at the tip anyway once demolition takes place, whether it had been left out in the rain or not.
