01 – DIANELLA
Gay Street landholding sold to Satterley

Major landholdings at Gay Street and Cottonwood Crescent have been sold to Satterley and development partners, with the deal negotiated by Shane Isaacs and Simon Kersten of Colliers on behalf of Gay Street Property Holdings Pty Ltd.

01 – EXMOUTH

Boutique hotel proposed near Ningaloo Reef

Plans have been put forward for the $15 million Hotel Sebatikel near Murdoch Park Golf Course in Exmouth. The rammed-earth development would include nine suites, a restaurant, pool and health spa, with completion targeted for 2028.

 

02 – DALKEITH

Riverfront staircase approved for Jutland Parade mansion

The owners of a mansion on Jutland Parade have been granted approval to build a 40-metre staircase connecting the property to the Swan River foreshore. The structure is estimated to cost about $500,000.

03 – OSBORNE PARK

Hospital expansion construction begins

Construction has begun on the major expansion of Osborne Park Hospital, with site clearing, bulk earthworks, piling works and installation of the first tower crane scheduled over the coming six months. The project also includes construction of a four-level support services building to house pathology and sterilisation services for the hospital campus.

04 – CARRAMAR

Carramar Village shopping centre sold

Carramar Village has been sold to Harmony Property Investments for $32.15 million following an expression-of-interest campaign.


04 – SOUTH BEACH
Marine Terrace apartment proposal rejected

A five-storey apartment proposal at 242 Marine Terrace, designed by Dan O’Donovan Architects and lodged by Urbis, has been rejected.

05 – ALKIMOS

Trinity Village retail centre sold

Trinity Village shopping centre in Alkimos has been sold to Harmony Property Investments for $33.07 million and will be held in the Harmony Property Investments Neighbourhood Retail Fund.

 

05 – CANNINGTON

Six-storey apartment development approved

The Metro Inner Development Assessment Panel has approved a $6 million project at 213–215 Sevenoaks Street. The development will include 36 apartments, a medical centre and cafe.

05 – EAST FREMANTLE

Office and apartment development approved

The Town of East Fremantle has approved a three-storey development at 14 Silas Street comprising an office and three apartments. The 211m² site sits beside the East Fremantle Medical Centre and was previously owned by Main Roads.

05 – LEEDERVILLE

Kailis restaurant and tavern proposed

The Kailis family has proposed a $2 million Mediterranean-Greek restaurant and tavern at 1/652 Newcastle Street in Leederville. Led by Mickey Kailis through Kerasma Hospitality Pty Ltd, the project would convert a single-storey warehouse into a 200-patron venue with alfresco dining.

05 – PERTH CBD
Paspaley showroom approved for heritage substation

Paspaley Pearls has been approved to convert a heritage-listed Murray Street substation into a showroom at a cost of $6.5 million, including removal of a J & E Ledger spiral staircase.

05 – SUBIACO

Former PMH apartment sites released to market

DevelopmentWA has released the first development parcels within the Subi East precinct at the former Princess Margaret Hospital site in Subiaco. Lots 1 and 2 are being marketed for apartment development and could accommodate towers of up to 17 and 11 storeys as part of the broader redevelopment expected to deliver about 1,000 homes.

06 – CLOVERDALE
10-unit apartment development proposed

A development application has been lodged for a 10-unit apartment complex on Robinson Avenue at a cost of $5 million.

06 – EAST PERTH

Former Fraser Suites to be managed as community housing

The Cook Government has appointed Foundation Housing Limited to manage the former Fraser Suites serviced apartment complex in the Queens Riverside precinct, which was recently acquired by the State Government for $105 million. Initial refurbishment works have been completed allowing the building to be tenanted, with further works to begin soon.

06 – NEDLANDS

Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital upgrades awarded

Two construction tenders at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital have been awarded to Perth-based Devlyn Construction. The projects include upgrades to the Neurological Intervention and Imaging Service of Western Australia (NIISwa) to improve treatment for brain aneurysms, vascular malformations and stroke, and the installation of a third CT scanner with refurbishment works in the Radiology Department to meet growing imaging demand.

06 – PERTH AIRPORT

Terminal consolidation planning progresses

Planning has continued for Perth Airport’s long-term terminal consolidation project which will relocate airline operations into a single precinct.

09 – KWINANA FREEWAY

Major upgrade project progresses

Contractors and consultants have been shortlisted to submit proposals for the Kwinana Freeway upgrade project. The works will target key congestion points along the corridor, including adding a third lane in each direction along the 11-kilometre stretch between Russell Road and Mortimer Road and installing co-ordinated ramp signals on northbound on-ramps to improve traffic flow during peak periods.

10 – WEST LEEDERVILLE

Development site listed for sale

A 1,970 m² site at the corner of Railway Parade and Rosslyn Street has been listed for sale by Waso Railway Parade Pty Ltd, led by builder Dale Alcock. The site could support up to an 18-storey tower under the West Leederville Activity Centre Precinct Structure Plan, subject to approvals.

11 – HENDERSON
Bechtel appointed for shipyard overhaul planning

Bechtel Infrastructure Australia has been appointed as design services consultant to finalise master plans for the multibillion-dollar redevelopment of the Henderson shipyard ahead of planned AUKUS submarine rotations at Garden Island.

11 – SOUTH PERTH

Medika Residences construction to begin

Demolition of the former houses at 13 and 13A Stone Street, South Perth has been completed ahead of construction of Griffin Group’s $12 million Medika Residences. Owned by GPG No 17 Pty Ltd, the nine-storey development will contain eight apartments on a 981 m² site.

11 – SOUTH PERTH

Melville Parade tower approval extended

The Metro Central JDAP has approved an extension of time for NL Homes Melville’s $85 million project at 50–52 Melville Parade, originally approved in April 2020. The proposal includes a 27-storey tower with 104 apartments and 20 serviced apartments, plus a public plaza and ground-floor commercial uses.

12 – PERTH
Tonkin corridor works commence

Work has begun on the Tonkin corridor project, with crews relocating Western Power transmission lines and poles.


12 – PERTH CBD
St Georges Terrace buildings listed for sale

Two buildings at 256 St Georges Terrace, seven and nine storeys high, have been listed for sale with an estimated price of $200 million.

 

12 – WATERFORD
IGA closes ahead of Spud Shed conversion

IGA Waterford has permanently closed as the site prepares to be converted into a Spud Shed supermarket.

 

13 – BURSWOOD
Trees removed at Burswood Park for racetrack

All trees at Burswood Park are reportedly being removed, including a registered mental health Blue Tree, as part of works for a new State Government racetrack.

 

14 – PERTH
Hydrofoiling vessels planned for Swan River

Perth-based Enautic Group has ordered two electric hydrofoiling passenger vessels, with plans to introduce river cruises and future commuter routes.

 

14 – SOUTH PERTH

139 Lake Street Residences development launches

A new apartment development at 139 Lake Street, Perth will launch with a public sales event. The sales gallery is located at 678 Beaufort Street, Mount Lawley, open 14–15 March from 10am to 1pm.

16 – BALDIVIS
Battery energy project proposed on Doghill Road

RE AU Development Pty Ltd has proposed a 250 megawatt, four-hour battery installation on Doghill Road, with construction expected to begin later this year and completion targeted for 2029.

17 – MURDOCH
Build-to-rent project breaks ground

Construction has begun on a 213-apartment build-to-rent development near Murdoch University and Fiona Stanley Hospital.

17 – SOUTH PERTH
Builder appointed for Riva Como

SKS Builders has been selected to construct the Riva Como development on Melville Parade.

18 – COLLIE
St Bridget’s School demolished

St Bridget’s School in Collie has been demolished.


18 – KWINANA
Revised McDonald’s relocation plan to clear more trees

A revised proposal to relocate Kwinana’s McDonald’s to the corner of Meares and Chisham Avenues will see additional tree removal, with changes including a repositioned building footprint and updated drive-through layout.


19 – SUBIACO
Civic precinct plans likely to be scrapped

Subiaco Council is expected to abandon a proposed $68 million redevelopment of the Rokeby Road civic precinct following strong community opposition.


26 – DALKEITH
Alexander Road development reconsidered following SAT

A five-unit apartment development at 6 Alexander Road, lodged by Lateral Planning on behalf of Universal United Investments Pty Ltd, is being reconsidered by the Metro Inner DAP following a SAT review.

26 – FREMANTLE
Point Street student accommodation recommended for approval

A Stage 1 proposal for an eight-storey purpose-built student accommodation development at 8 Point Street, comprising 392 beds and a ground floor café, is recommended for approval by the Metro Inner DAP. The development includes no on-site car parking, with bicycle and scooter parking provided.

 

26 – NEDLANDS
Cooper Street grouped dwellings recommended for refusal

A $6 million development application by Planning Solutions for 10 grouped dwellings at 32–34 Cooper Street is recommended for refusal by the Metro Inner DAP, with concerns including unresolved visitor parking.
