Time and again, we find ourselves longing to see places as they once were. Even when photos capture a building’s final days before demolition, they still have the power to stir nostalgia and connection. Some places may be awaiting a second chance—grand plans for renovation and fresh beginnings, filled with good intentions.

At Streetkid Industries, we’re on a mission to photograph and document as much of Perth’s history as we can.

Sure, getting access isn’t always straightforward. While there have been times we’ve had to be creative in our approach, we’re now fortunate to increasingly gain permission to visit and capture these spaces.

Sometimes, we only get to document the exterior—and that’s perfectly fine. Other times, we’ve been lucky enough to explore and photograph every hidden corner of a site.

It’s not just our history—it’s everyone’s. These are stories waiting to be told. While so far we’ve mainly captured the physical remains of these places, our goal is to complement these images with researched histories, records, and—most importantly—people’s personal stories and experiences.

How often have you wished you could revisit a place from your past? Finding photos can be surprisingly difficult, even with the vast resources of the internet. Often, you’re left sifting through endless content with few meaningful results. And while individual photos exist, there’s rarely one place that brings them all together.

We know we have a long way to go. We’ll never claim to match the incredible work like Lost Perth but we’re passionate about what we do and we believe it matters. Hopefully, you’ll enjoy exploring this collection as much as we enjoy building it.
