Unidentified Concrete Foundations

We are yet to identify what this big foundations were for, with a smaller rectangular one on the northern side. This is located at the rear of the accommodation block.

Big shoutout to Sandra Playle who identified the engraving on the small foundations for us. It's believed to read E. Kutzer, being that of WX30727 Ernest Robert Kutzer.

Ernie Kutzer was stationed at Rottnest Island during World War 2 from 14 July 1942, as a Gunner with the 123rd Heavy Artillery unit.

​

Later as a Lance Sergeant, he was noted as being in the Heavy Artillery FFD (Fremantle Fixed Defences) unit.
