34 - UWA Neurocognitive Development Unit Demolition

UWA Neurocognitive Development Unit

University of Western Australia's UWA Neurocognitive Development Unit is in the process of being demolished. Although there are a number of Development Applications that have been approved for UWA, it's hard to know which one applies for this building. It is possible a four storey building comprising of staff accomodation, teaching and research facilities applies to this part of the university and if that is the case, it was approved on 15 March 2018 at a cost of $14 million.

This area of Developmental Psychology at the School of Psychology shares its large building with Geography and Environmental Science, which includes its Earth Sciences Study Hub.

A box of fliers was located in the room with the vintage floppy disks (remember when it took 38 of them to install Windows 98?) for Project KIDS. This was funded by the Channel 7 Telethon Trust between January 1 to December 31 in 2012 for $356,585 to study children's brain waves.
